When looking at metrics and measurement it is important to determine what is a metric and what is not. Companies can spend an enormous amount of time and resources measuring the wrong things. Metrics
- Measure results associated with objectives
- Drive continuous performance improvement
- Can be easily calculated
- Can be compared easily
- Should be limited to only 3-5 for any specific outcome or objective
- Are continuously reviewed and refined
